SITUATION AND BACKGROUND
The muncipality of Gotarrendura is situated to the south "La Moraña" which occupies the northern third of the province of Ávila. It holds within the plains of various grain of the central part of the region. Its altitude reaches 931m, and has an area of 11km2 and belongs to the commuity of Ribera del Adaja and to the consortium of La Moraña Sierra de Ávila. It is 22km from Ávila and 26km from Arévalo. Gotarrendura is situated in a convenient place as it is easy to go by road to the north, Valladolid (124km), to the south Toledo (195km) and Cáceres (267km) and to the east to Segovia (73km) and Madrid (120km) or to the west to Salamanca (95km).
As of 16th April 2010, Gotarrendura has 230 residents: 85 men, 145 women. The larger number of women is due to the existence of the the Special Education College where 60 places are reserved for disabled women.
The locality of Gotarrendura is situated in the province of Ávila, 22km from the capital and 24km from the main city of the region, Arévalo. It is accessible by taking the N-5101 road from Ávila towards Salamanca. and you take exit 14 towards AV-805/Las Berlanas/Arévalo/Peñalba de Ávila.
